Revealing a slightly different approach from her more danceable creations, BirdVoiceWindNoise preserves many of Kyoka’s signature elements, such as low, dense textures and a deep sense of rhythm.

As someone who chooses to control the sounds used in her compositions from the very beginning, she makes an extensive use of field recordings: "I like the feeling of zooming into the microscopic level of sound. With my earphones on and listening through the recorder, I feel like a small insect. Everything is so big, and so many unexpected sounds jump into my world."
