about

More than life paths themselves, it often seems to be the detours – through dusty backroads – that bring us closer to our eventual destination. Born at the crossroads between the west coast of the United States and the west coast of Europe, between the Beat generation and Rave culture, between the enlightened psychedelia of the sixties and the poetic terrorism of the nineties, Jenny & her Epileptic Dog is an imaginary sideroad dreamt by Californian psy-fi folk musician Sonny Santos and myself.

When planning our first concert, long before we even started playing any music together, Sonny and I sat down and talked for weeks. We talked about life and about the music that made us who we are. Cinema was a recurring subject, and we would frequently express what we wanted Jenny’s music to sound like, by referring to a certain movie scene or atmosphere. The fact that, somewhere in a small town of Poland, there’s a girl named Jenny whose dog actually suffers from epilepsy is pure coincidence. And the fact that the dog’s name is Rebel and that he travelled from Ukraine to Poland by BlaBlaCar was never really proven.
